There are 1000s of companies providing distribution services for the approximately 10 Million vacation rental properties in the vacation rental space in 2018, ranging from property managers to global metasearch engines. While one could argue that the industry is 100 years old as vacationers certainly have rented houses, apartments for vacation purposes for a long time, there has been a real explosion in accessibility to availability and actual supply growth in the last 15 years. What was USD$30 Billion of identifiable rental revenue in the key markets in 2000 is exceeding USD$200 Billion in 2018. This industry is growing with room for new entrants, platforms and services, as well as the expansion of services of existing platforms.   September 2018

UK DOMESTIC HOLIDAY DEMAND RISES

A recent article by the Financial Times by Alice Hancock on January 30th, 2021 it was stated that "UK holiday accommodation prices are rising sharply as people rush to book properties

after a clampdown on international travel and the EU’s"   Landmark Global Associates conducted a randomized survey of UK Holiday makers.  The conclusion:    

Of those surveyed that will take a holiday in 2021 and/or 2022, 100% will make at least one if not all of the planned holidays domestically in rented self catering accommodation.
